When I entered one of my singleplayer worlds today, there were several signs near my house which I didn't place. They all said "null."
I had read about "Null," the completely black player-thing that supposedly makes signs saying "null," but I was just as curious as I was worried--Null looks just like the Forger, and I'd been wondering if they were related somehow.
I wandered around a bit, and eventually came to a cave lit by redstone torches. I went in.
The first thing I noticed was a strange machine. It was made out pistons, hoppers, a chest, a dropper, other redstone components, and even some stuff that I didn't recognize.
Then I saw the completely black player standing next to it.
"Are you Null?" I asked.
The player looked up, and a chat message appeared: "<Forger> What? No, I'm the Forger. Surely you remember when I warned you about Princes Repierk?"
"Yeah, I do. I saw signs saying "null," though, and since Null is supposed to look exactly like you, when I saw you I thought you might be him."
"Well, actually," said the Forger, "I guess in a sense I *am* Null. See, there isn't actually a malevolent entity named Null. All the sightings of "Null" have just been me.
